Unsure when to join us? We’ve done all the homework for you.
We offer our getaways all year round, so there’s really no bad time to visit Glenorchy. Each season has its pros and cons though, so we’ve put together a bit of advice for every season to help you decide when to book your getaway for.
Summer –
The most popular time for travellers visiting Glenorchy, you can expect warmer days and typically clearer skies during summer. With an average sunset time of 9:30pm during this time of year, you’ll get to enjoy longer days, allowing for extra adventure time while you're with us.
Autumn –
Classed as the shoulder season, everything tends to quiet down a bit in Glenorchy, with less tourists around. This is largely due to the dip in temperatures and higher chances of rain during this time of year. However, a bit of rain doesn’t scare us! We take advantage of every moment of your getaway so you can rest assured we always have a Plan B, C and even D up our sleeves for wet weather.
Winter –
A popular time for visitors to Queenstown, we also tend to get more people heading over to Glenorchy once they’ve had their fill of skiing. Winter is a spectacular time to explore our small village. Bright, cool, clear days are common and there’s a dusting of snow on the mountains, which make for stunning photos.
Spring –
With newborn lambs dotting the fields, colourful lupins in bloom and the longer days, this is one of our favourite times to explore our beautiful backyard. Also classed as the shoulder season, there are typically less tourists around, meaning you might have the trails and views all to yourself!
Ultimately, no matter what time of year you decide to join us, you’ll get stunning views, fun times and good company. If you have any questions about when to visit us, just get in touch – we’d love to chat to you!
